How to research on the Internet

The absolute essentials in just one day


You don’t need me to tell you that we are all overwhelmed with information. In fact we are drowning in it.

Most of it comes from the Internet which is a wonderful tool, but it’s also a double edged sword. It gives us access to all sorts of business information, but much of it is of a dubious and unknown quality.   

It’s a problem if you need to quickly find and retrieve information which you can rely on  and trust.  

Knowing how to use search engines correctly is key, but Google for example doesn’t always give the most relevant information in its top results. So it’s not always so straightforward.

In fact Google is not even able to access much of the information on some business sites because the information is held in databases that Google does not search – the so called hidden or invisible web.

There are some key starting points for conducting business research though and there are some advanced search features of Google and other specialist search tools which you simply must know about.
