7 good reasons not to set up a neighbourhood agreements (09 Sep 09)
If you haven’t yet set up a neighbourhood agreement here are 7 reasons why you might not want to:
- You are providing services to your residents as cost effectively as possible
- Residents are getting exactly the services they want and can easily influence future changes
- Community problems have been prioritized by the community and are being dealt with in a co-ordinated way
- Residents know exactly what services they are meant to be getting right down to how often the grass in the communal area should be cut in summer
- There is little duplication of services, and partners meet regularly to see how they could do better
- You often go on estate walkabouts with residents to see problems at first hand
- All the information about local services, priorities for change and opportunities for resident involvement are covered in one simple easy to read document - so residents are not in limbo when housing staff come and go.
If you said “yes” to all seven, you are doing a sterling job.
